1854 TRIMBLE CABIN DEDICATION

1007 Highway 56, Calico Rock
The Trimble House Dedication was last Saturday. Over 150 people attended. You can access the following article about the Cabin and the Dedication in the Three Rivers Edition of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.
Sponsored by The Izard County Historical and Genealogical Society and the Calico Rock Cumberland Presbyterian Church
The 1854 Trimble Log Cabin is being moved to the park across from the Calico Rock Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In 1815, newlyweds James and Phebe Trimble came to the wilderness, seven miles north of the Calico Rock Bluffs. Later they founded Trimble Campground C. P. Church, which became the “mother” of several later C. P. churches. Carl Russell, whose family has owned the cabin in Dolph for many years, donated the historic building to the Izard County Historical and Genealogical Society.
The Society has raised funds and, with the help of volunteers, has rebuilt it at this new location. When the cabin is finished, visitors can look in the windows, enjoy the heirloom garden and read the informational signs.
