Denomination History

The Cumberland Presbyterian Church almost spans the entire history of the United States. The denomination was founded in 1810 as an outgrowth of the Great Revival on the American Frontier. It continues its ministry today, sharing the work of Christ through college, seminary, children's home, Choctaw missions in Oklahoma, and churches in Colombia, South America; Hong Kong; and Liberia, Africa.

Church History

Cumberland Presbyterian Church was begun by the late Rev. H.H. Scrudder in 1941, and a building was erected on what is now the parking lot that same year. The church building that we now worship in was constructed October 30, 1977. A new fellowship hall has just been completed, as of July 2009, on the north side of the building.
